Afternoon, It is amazing that 40% of homeless Youth are part of the LGBTQ family and yet this gets little to know news coverage. What does this say about our society and how we treat our Youth.... I know it took me many years to feel comfortable enough to come out to my friends let allow my own family. What's everyone's thoughts on this topic? What can we do as foster parents to ensure our LGBTQ do not become part of the 40%? For me and my husband we will continue to be true to ourselves and show that love knows no gender, race, age, ethnicity, love is simply the pure joy/expression of being with someone. What changes or what will you continue to do in your home? #40toNoneDay, launched to raise awareness nationally of the fact that 40 percent of homeless youth identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. Yet they make up only 7 percent of the population. Learn more here: www.fortytonone.org. Do what you can. Take care, Nathan
