Hello All,
I have created this discussion board because I truly believe that the best information comes from those doing the work. After 14+ years as a foster parent for both the state and private agency I can personally tell you that it takes a village to raise a child. It is my hope that this discussion forum will turn into "our digital village." We can support one another through all aspects of foster care from Licensing/Recruiting to Retention, to training, to Educational, Legal, Medical advocacy for our youth, and most importantly Self Care. When I started this journey if it where not for several dedicated Social Workers and fellow foster parents who I could share my joys, heart aches, and questions with I would not be here today.
If you are not a foster parent I encourage you to consider it, ask me anything and everything about it
